Crossed Stitched Pillow

For this project you will need embroidery tread, stitching needle, embroidery frame yarn and cross stitching fabric. You can use basic fabric (thick canvas weave) instead of cross stitching fabric, but you will need to pull some treads out of it for guidance.

Cross stitch on the chosen fabric by following cross stitching diagram displayed on the left.

Use embroidery frame to stretch out the fabric while cross stitching.

When the cross stitching work is done cut out two more squares in the same size as the cross stitched square (one for the other side of the pillow and one for cross stitch lining).  Line all the squares together (inside out). Using the sewing machine stitch the squares together (remember 1cm allowance) leaving the gap on one of the sides.Invert the pillow and fill it with polyester fibre or other suitable material. Close the gap by stitching the edges together. Ladder stitch is the best to use as it is invisible.
