Once you have casted on your first row you can start knitting (this can be combined with the purl stitch). Set your yarn, fingers and the needle in the right position as shown on the left.

Next step is to slip first stitch (loop) off the left hand needle onto the right hand needle.

To make a knit stitch push the needle trough the loop, wrap around with the yarn on other end (use the index finger to do this) and pull back through with the loop on the left hand needle.

Look at you! You are already knitting ;)
